Bringing Quantum Industrialization to the G7 Stage
ICQIA National Representatives Attend 2023 G7 Sendai Science and Technology Ministers' Meeting
The four quantum industry associations that are members of the International Council of Quantum Industry Associations (ICQIA) — from Europe (QuIC), the United States (QED-C), Canada (QIC), and Japan (Q-STAR) — participated in the official side event high-level meeting "The Future Opened Up by Quantum Technology" of the G7 Sendai Science and Technology Ministers' Meeting held in Japan on May 14, 2023, and presented their activities and outlook on the growth of the global quantum industry.
Representatives from each ICQIA organization highlighted the benefits that quantum technology brings to the future of society and urged G7 governments to cooperate in expanding the global quantum industry market. Common areas of interest discussed at the meeting included standardization, intellectual property, and market access.
Furthermore, representatives of the quantum industry associations also visited "NanoTerasu," the newly established 3GeV synchrotron radiation facility at Tohoku University, which hosted the meeting on the same day. They learned about the latest quantum science and technology developments in Japan and engaged with leaders in Japan's quantum research and industry sectors.
ICQIA is committed to fostering a strong and sustainable global quantum industry foundation and looks forward to continuing to host international forums that promote the growth of the quantum sector.
About QuIC, Europe
The European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) is a non-profit industry association established in 2021, aiming to foster the growth of the commercial quantum technology sector. QuIC acts as a collaborative hub across Europe, bringing together hundreds of SMEs, large corporations, investors, research and technology organizations, and academic institutions to build a strong and vibrant ecosystem.
QuIC members address common interests such as standardization, intellectual property, trade, and talent development. Currently, QuIC plays a key role in the coordination and support activities of the European project "Quantum Flagship," aiming to make Europe a dynamic and attractive region for innovative research, business, and investment in this field.
