Q-STAR and UKQuantum Sign MoU to Strengthen Japan-UK Quantum Industry Collaboration
The Quantum Strategic Technology Alliance for Revolution (Q-STAR), a general incorporated association, and UKQuantum, the UK's quantum industry consortium, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening collaboration in the quantum industry between Japan and the UK. This MoU marks a significant milestone in promoting international cooperation for the global development and societal implementation of quantum technology.

This MoU, signed between the private organizations Q-STAR and UKQuantum, is linked to the "Memorandum of Cooperation on Quantum Science and Technology between Japan and the UK" signed by the Japanese and British governments. Based on this MoU, Q-STAR and UKQuantum will focus on the following areas:
•Exchange in Quantum Industry and Research: Promote stronger collaboration among quantum-related organizations, including startups, large corporations, investors, and research institutions in both countries.
•Policy Recommendations: Cooperate on policy recommendations to build and grow the quantum ecosystem.
•Joint Participation in Conferences and Events: Jointly participate in international conferences and events to contribute to enhancing the presence of both countries in the global quantum industry.
•Co-hosting Quantum Events: Provide events, workshops, and networking opportunities to promote stronger cooperation among stakeholders in both countries within the quantum industry.
Q-STAR and UKQuantum will also collaborate with government agencies to contribute to the development of the quantum industry in both countries.
About Q-STAR
Q-STAR was established on September 1, 2021, with the aim of developing quantum technology and its future societal implementation. It is an organization currently comprising 108 corporate members, transcending industry and corporate boundaries to create new industries utilizing quantum technology. Q-STAR will continue to actively collaborate not only with domestic but also with international quantum-related organizations to promote the global dissemination of quantum technology.
About UKQuantum
UKQuantum is an organization that promotes the UK's quantum industry. Its mission is to develop the quantum industry in collaboration with the UK government and the international community, and to promote the implementation of quantum technology within the UK economy. Established in 2022, UKQuantum has approximately 60 members, including startups, SMEs, large corporations, and research institutions, all leading the development of the global quantum technology industry.
