Fujitsu collaborates with QuTech in development of new technology for freezing electronics to control diamond spin qubits
Fujitsu February 20 announced a collaboration with QuTech for the development of the world’s first cryogenic electronic circuits for controlling diamond-based quantum bits. Enabling convenient operation of both the qubits and the control electronics in a compact cryogenic refrigerator, the new technique addresses the ‘wiring bottleneck’ in cooling qubits while maintaining high quality performance, marking a significant milestone toward the realization of larger-scale quantum computers.

Fujitsu develops technology to speed up quantum circuit computation in quantum simulator by 200 times Breakthrough technology accelerates development of algorithms for practical use in quantum computers
Fujitsu February 19 announced the development of a novel technique on a quantum simulator that speeds up quantum-classical hybrid algorithms, which have been proposed as a method for the early use of quantum computers, achieving 200 times the computational speed of previous simulations.
The newly developed technology enables simultaneous processing of a large number of repetitively executed quantum circuit computations distributed among multiple groups. Fujitsu has also devised a way to simplify problems on a large scale with less loss of accuracy by using one of the world’s largest-scale quantum simulators it has developed.

SoftBank Corp. (“SoftBank”) launched a joint research collaboration with Keio University with a view to the business utilization of quantum computers. Initially research will be conducted in the field of quantum chemistry, which involves the quantum mechanical analysis of molecules and nuclei.SoftBank will dispatch researchers to the Keio University Quantum Computing Center to simulate nuclear quantum effects (NQEs) which cannot be efficiently computed by classical computers. These simulations will be performed using Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) computers, and will be used to investigate the mechanisms of chemical phenomena and validate NISQ use cases for social implementation. SoftBank will continue to conduct research in multiple fields including quantum machine learning and optimization planning, and work with mobile technologies such as 5G and 6G communication systems and IoT to contribute to the social implementation of quantum computers.
