Message from the Chair
As international competition in the quantum industry intensifies, expectations of the contributions of quantum technology to society, the economy, and the environment are increasing. In Japan, incorporating quantum technology throughout the socioeconomic system and its integration with conventional technologies to create opportunities for industrial growth and solve social issues will play vital roles in shaping future societies. The Quantum STrategic Industry Alliance for Revolution (Q-STAR) was established in Japan on September 1, 2021 and began full-scale activities as a general incorporated association on May 23, 2022, to develop quantum technology towards its future implementation in society, enhance public interest, and contribute globally as an opinion leader in the industry.
We aim to build a society where quantum technology can be used naturally and unconsciously. We also aim to accelerate the shift to quantum technology through industry-government-academia collaboration. Furthermore, given the current global economy, we will promote the globalization of quantum technology to accelerate its progress and practical application through international collaboration. Q-STAR aims to be an alliance that can contribute to societal advancements by actively promoting cooperation with quantum-related organizations, both in Japan and overseas, for developing quantum technology and its implementation in society.
