Launching Joint Research and Embodying a Software Platform
to Accelerate Social Implementation

The Japan Council for the Creation of Industry through Quantum Technology (Q-STAR) and the Global Research Center for Quantum and AI Fusion Technology Business Development (G-QuAT) of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) held a joint symposium on July 11 titled “Quantum Future Stage: Social Implementation and Business Opportunities”.

The symposium aimed to help participants discover the practical application value of quantum technology, encourage them to take the next step toward the quantum era, and create a foothold for business creation and business innovation by providing a forum to meet with industry leaders. government and public offices, domestic academia, The symposium brought together industry, government, academia, private companies, embassies of volunteer countries, and overseas industry organizations to share information on the latest trends in the industry, introduce initiatives for the creation and development of the quantum industry, and exchange opinions from a global perspective on issues related to the industry.

A joint research agreement between Q-STAR and G-QuAT was announced, and the importance of developing a software platform and a large-scale computing environment for actual verification was presented in order to accelerate the implementation of quantum computing in society. Regarding the software platform, he presented the specific activities that have been demonstrated in Q-STAR activities to date and a software stack diagram based on these activities, indicating that the use cases and their problem solving have already reached the practical phase.
