Q-STAR’s SDGs Subcommittee participated in the Alain Aspect Symposium held at the “iXcampus” in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France, from November 19 to 20, 2024. The venue, the “iXcampus,” is a new center for innovation and home to startups, academic partners, and an international conference center. Located approximately 20 km west of central Paris, further expansion of the facility is planned by 2025.
The symposium focused on the study of climate change and the application of quantum technologies for its mitigation, with a program of keynote speeches, breakout sessions, and panel discussions.
Tomoyo Matsuoka, a member of the SDGs Subcommittee, represented Q-STAR at the panel discussion and introduced the Japanese quantum community, which was particularly noteworthy because Q-STAR is unique in that it includes many user companies compared to overseas communities.
The Q-STAR booth featured a video presentation “The Future of Quantum Computing in the SDGs,” produced by the SDGs Subcommittee, which presented the activities and achievements of Q-STAR. Q-STAR’s activities and achievements were shown and attracted a great deal of interest from the foreign businesses that attended the event.
